How to Successfully Grow Carrots from Seed

- Soil Temp: 65-80 Degrees F.
- Planting Depth: 1/4"
- Germination: 14-21 Days
In the spring or fall, sow seeds 1-2 inches apart in loose fertile soil. Cover the area with garden fabric that allows water to penetrate and water frequently, keeping soil moist. Remove fabric as soon as sprouts appear. Plant every 3 weeks for a continuous harvest.
Carrots are binannuals, flowering the second year. Leave a few carrots in ground over winter. In the spring, seed heads will form and should be left to dry on the plants. Separate seeds and store in a cool, dry place for up to 3 years.
