The Don Enrique? Tepin Pepper is a small, searingly hot pepper. Registering an intense 8 out of 10 on the chile heat scale, this red pepper has a dry, musty flavor that produces a quick burn. It is the wild form of Pequin Peppers. Round or oval in shape, each Tepin Pepper measures approximately 1/2 inch across.
Thin flesh makes it perfect for pickling. Easily crushed and sprinkled on beans, salsas, and other Mexican dishes, Tepin Peppers can also add a red-hot note to soups, sauces, and vinegars.
Don Enrique? Dried Tepin Peppers are hand-selected for excellent quality. Choose whole, unbroken peppers with deep color and a fresh scent. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry, dark place for up to six months or more.
