Raku firing is an ancient Japanese ceramics technique where?glazed ceramics are taken from the kiln while they are still glowing red hot and are then placed in a combustible material, such as sawdust or newspaper. This technique is used to starve the piece of oxygen, which creates a variety of colors within the glaze.

Due to the nature of the firing each piece is one of a kind.

NOT intended for food or drink. Raku pieces are still porous and therefor not food safe.

For the longevity of the piece it is recommended to hand wash with care.
